I was a nervous wreck on the 1 ½ drive to my first 5k race in Cook Forest.  I have no idea why, I guess it’s just the fact that I didn’t know what to expect.  It’s not like I was competing with anyone so it didn’t really matter what my time was but I am very competitive and hard on myself so I had very high expectations.  The race got started a little late so that added to my nerves, just waiting around for the gun to go off.  I didn’t like that start, being all crammed together and having to jog or almost walk before we could get going.  It quickly spread out though and then I was content.  I felt pretty good through the whole race, no sore muscles or stitches.  When I crossed the finish line the time clock said 26:35 and my GPS watch…
